I Love and Accept Myself Exactly as I am
As I prepare to welcome the start of a new year, I often think about what I’d like to change – the resolutions begin to percolate and I realize many of these become a place for me to place my “not good enough” energy.
I resolve to do more, better, best… which often results in procrastination, comparison or resistance – in the end nothing truly gets my attention.
Often my desire to change something is really an inner call for love and acceptance. Can I accept myself in this moment without judgement and criticism? Does it really matter if I could be thinner, fitter, smarter, richer? Does my life have to reflect the qualities I admire in others – or am I ready to love and accept myself exactly as I am?
I believe as we value ourselves and our contributions, we are able to bear witness to our greatness and the potential ready to be expressed in each moment. As a result, I create a new measure of success in my life, based on my own beautiful expression.
The wonderful blessing of “loving and accepting myself exactly as I am” is the gift it provides to others in my life. As I release myself from self criticism, I let go of my expectations of others as well and love and accept them as they are. The circle of love is complete…
Today I…
Am good enough…
Love and accept everyone exactly as they are…
Acknowledge my contributions…
Welcome new levels of success…
And so it is…
